Singapore-based popular cryptocurrency exchange bitgethas registered in Seychelles as part of its plans to expand globally and to establish more regional centres. The registration was taken under the ‘International Business Companies Act’, which Seychelles enacted in 2016.
The exchange also pointed out that it aims to increase the number of employees by 50 percent until the first quarter of 2023. Thus, it was stated that the total number of employees of the company will increase to 1,200. Bitget General Manager Gracy Chen stated that they will continue to recruit despite the current recession in the market.
Bitget started operating in Brazil on November 16.
On the other hand, it was known that the headquarters of the popular cryptocurrency exchange OKX is also in Seychelles. For this reason, the island country of the African continent has been on the agenda many times before with news about cryptocurrency exchanges.
