Interest in DAOs skyrocketed in the aftermath of the pandemic

Survey studies of working US citizens revealed that generations Y and Z are much more in favor of joining decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) and working remotely in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

More than 1,100 U.S. citizens took part in a survey by the MetisDAO Foundation investigating trends in remote working and the emergence of DAOs in recent years.

Referring to a research report on DAOs published by the Harvard Law School Corporate Governance Forum, the results of the survey highlighted the rise of DAO treasures from $400 million to $16 billion in 2021.

One of the biggest factors in Metis’ report investigating whether employees are ready for decentralized employment opportunities has been Covid-19. With the Covid-19 pandemic, a rapid transition was made to the remote working model. This has led to more learning about DAOs and decentralized autonomous companies (DACs), especially among millennials and millennials.

According to the results of the survey, 75 percent of the respondents voted for their companies to adopt the remote working model. However, millennials, hybrid or remote, revealed the most positive responses to how DACs provide opportunities for employees to help run a company.

47 percent of those surveyed said they were open to working for a DAO or DAC as a contract worker. The research also found that millennials are more willing to work with DAOs and DACs than millennials.

However, Gen Z participants defined the concept of DAO more accurately than other age groups. Generation Z participants described the DAO as a revolutionary movement in the working system.

The survey, conducted by MetisDAO and attended by a total of 1,112 people, was carried out last November.
